Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our family to yours! We've had a whirlwind week, and I must say, I am glad the week is over. Despite the chaos of life we experienced this week, we also tried to fit in some Halloween activities. Trotwood is really into Pokemon right now and wanted to be Ash Ketchum from Pokemon. So, last Sunday, I literally dusted off my sewing machine and put together an "Ash" shirt for him. We painted the symbol on a red hat and cut off the fingers of some green gloves. Of course, the costume wouldn't be complete without a Pikachu and a Pokeball. For those of you unfamiliar with Pokemon, here is what Ash Ketchum looks like:

Little Dorrit was a monster for Halloween. Her costume was way too big for her but we made it work.

On Wednesday night, we attended our ward's Trunk or Treat and then on Friday, we went trick or treating at my work. The marketing department, along with other departments, really go all out and decorate for the kids. We took pictures with a Tardis!
Trotwood participated in a "Jedi Training Academy."

And he got his picture taken with a storm trooper.
We also visited WhoVille, Jurassic World, and Hollywood. It was super busy but a lot of fun and I look forward to going next year.

Tonight, we joined with some great friends for an afternoon of karaoke, food and then trick-or-treating. Little Dorrit was obsessed with the karaoke microphone and kept trying to eat it.

When we asked Trotwood if he had a good Halloween, he said "No. I had an AWESOME Halloween!" He went to bed happy and tired and that makes it all worth it.

The Pumpkin Patch

I've been meaning to post about these photos for the last few weeks. It seems my blogging habits are falling at the very beginning and end of each month. On October 17th, we had a full day of fun going to the pumpkin patch and visiting with friends. It was a little chilly to be visiting a pumpkin patch but sometimes I feel like our weekends get so busy I wanted to make sure we would be able to take the kids. Trotwood absolutely loved going on the hay ride, running around the grass maze, and picking out pumpkins. Little Dorrit just likes to go places and watch everything that's going on. If I'd planned more in advance, I would have brought our nice camera and tried to get some better photos burns think our impromptu iPhone photos turned out okay.

We carved the pumpkins for our family home even in activity. Carving pumpkins is actually not one of my favorite activities but Trotwood just loves it. I think I feel the same way about dyeing eggs...probably because of the mess. But I do love that he wants to do all of these things and I hope he will have good memories of these activities. So, we carved the pumpkins and put them on the porch and for the last week and a half I've been telling myself I'm going to get a picture of all of the pumpkins lit up at night. Well, I still haven't done it and now they are starting to mold. Maybe next year.

Our April 2015

I think it's highly unlikely that I will finish our monthly logs by the end of the year as I keep falling behind. And yet I persist. Here is our April.

Crawling baby

I meant to post this video when I talked about Little Dorrit turning one. She's doing a lot better crawling and physical therapy is going well. I'm not sure when they'll start on walking with her but I can't imagine it will be too far away.

Also, the day before her birthday, she had a checkup and Little Dorrit was 25 1/2 inches long and 17 pounds. She sure is a tiny little thing!
