Today our sweet baby would have been one year old. On this blog, we've decided to refer to her as Betsey Trotwood or just Betsey in honor of David Copperfield's aunt in the book David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. To try and make today a more joyous than sad occasion, we bought new flowers and put them on Betsey's grave, bought a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to her. Trotwood was so excited about everything that everywhere we went he told everyone he met that it was Betsey's birthday today and we were getting her a birthday cake and flowers.
Thank you to all of you for your love, prayers and support throughout our trials. Concerning any updates on genetic testing, another doctor is looking into our case again right now but the general attitude surrounding our case is less than optimistic about finding any solutions as to why our two precious baby girls returned to our Father in Heaven so quickly after their arrival on this earth. It is strange that with all that modern medicine can do, we may never have an answer concerning the loss of our two children. We are grateful for our little family and look forward to when we can be together again someday.
