My Playground

Trotwood always wants to show his daddy the playground at preschool every day Daddy picks him up from pre-school. Really, it's just an excuse to play outside some more but on a day that wasn't too cold or rainy, Dad got the grand tour.

Grandma!

Grandma came to visit a few weeks ago when my sister and her family were in town. I loved this photo of all the grandkids piled on top of her.

To the moon!

Love these kits by Deena Rutter! I noticed I have a tendency to use a lot of blues and oranges in my layouts...I should probably branch out a bit more.

Anniversary Meal

Breakfast at the Anniversary Inn last year. Just delicious. Although, the Swiss Family Robinson room looks cool, it was not my favorite for relaxing and sleeping.

Identity Do-Over

Every day, Trotwood changes his clothes multiple times a day from pajamas to superheroes to comfy clothes to regular clothes. A lot of times he'll come up with new superheroes from the outfits he puts together. For instance, "Adios Man" is pictured in one of the photos above. For this layout, I used products by Deena Rutter (Count on Me brushes) and Robyn Meierotto (In Stitches).

Feeling the Love!

I did this recent layout for Deena Rutter's shop retirement at Design House Digital. Love her stuff. And even more, I love these boys.

Project Life Week 1

I've decided to participate in Project Life this year which is way of scrapbooking where you document your week to week activities. Of course, it's already the fourth week of January and I've only finished Week 1 but that's okay! I'll catch up eventually. Here's our Week 1.

So far, I've really enjoyed doing this because it's more "real time" scrapbooking and I'm trying to take more photos each week. I'm doing everything digitally and have started out by using Becky Higgins' digital templates. She's got some really great paper and digital products out there to make doing Project Life easier and I'm so tempted to buy more than just the templates I bought. I do know that several designers at Pixels and Co. have Project Life products and many are coming out with new ones debuting on Feb. 1st!! I'm excited about figuring out my own Project Life style.

Another birthday

We are celebrating another birthday today! Today our oldest child would be five years old. It is so strange to think of how different my life would be right now if our two daughters were actually alive right now. We would have a five year-old, a three year-old and a one year-old all running around the house. Although we miss our girls terribly, we are so grateful they are ours and we love them so much.

Happy Birthday, Little One.

Today our sweet baby would have been one year old. On this blog, we've decided to refer to her as Betsey Trotwood or just Betsey in honor of David Copperfield's aunt in the book David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. To try and make today a more joyous than sad occasion, we bought new flowers and put them on Betsey's grave, bought a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to her. Trotwood was so excited about everything that everywhere we went he told everyone he met that it was Betsey's birthday today and we were getting her a birthday cake and flowers.

Thank you to all of you for your love, prayers and support throughout our trials. Concerning any updates on genetic testing, another doctor is looking into our case again right now but the general attitude surrounding our case is less than optimistic about finding any solutions as to why our two precious baby girls returned to our Father in Heaven so quickly after their arrival on this earth. It is strange that with all that modern medicine can do, we may never have an answer concerning the loss of our two children. We are grateful for our little family and look forward to when we can be together again someday.
