Doesn't he just look like the sweetest (albeit messy) little angel? I just can't take enough pictures of him sleeping. This kid makes me laugh even when he sleeps.

A Surprise Visit!

We got to visit with these great folks last week.

I love my grandparents! They were on their way to meet my uncle and his wife a little north of where we live and called me out of the blue last Thursday while I was at work. It was such a wonderful surprise and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to see them for a few hours that night! P.S. I really think I have the cutest, sweetest grandparents on the planet.

Lost & Found

The other day we lost this.
Trotwood likes to play around the glass/screen door in front of our front door. There is a little thing-a-ma-jig (I have no idea what it is called) attached to the glass/screen door by a few screws that keeps the door from slamming shut, and somehow, Trotwood took it apart. When we'd noticed what he had done {we're not negligent parents or anything, he's just super silent, sneaky, and quick}, Mr. Rochester picked up the pieces and realized that there was a piece missing - one of the two small flathead screws that attached the contraption to the door. At that time, we were unsuccessful in our search for the piece.

We found it a few days later, in one of these
I don't believe our son will have any iron deficiencies.

The little giraffe Trotwood is holding has recently become one of his favorite toys. He walks around with it, hugs it, bites it, snuggles it, throws it and much more (although I've yet to see him sleep with it...maybe because we haven't given him the chance). Mr. Rochester has also said lately that Trotwood is getting bossy with his toys. We've started to hear some stern tones to his babblings whenever he is playing with his giraffe or some of his other toys. With all his yells, sharp tones, and finger pointing, he is definitely making demands or giving orders to his toys. I often wonder what is going through our little boy's head.

On a side note, yesterday at church, during the sacrament prayers, Trotwood throws a hymnal at the man sitting behind us and hits him - during the prayer! Luckily, the man was unhurt and completely understanding about it but we really have to watch this kid. Who knows who he could be injuring during the next prayer at church?! Beware to all those sitting in pews near us!

Sleeping position

Although I think it's darn cute, I'm not sure if I'll ever understand how babies can sleep like this.
I once fell asleep in a position similar to this and my legs fell asleep (no pun intended). When I woke up in the middle of the night, I had pins and needles running down my legs as I straightened them out. It was painful for me but it must not be for kids because Trotwood falls asleep in this position all the time.

We put out our American flag on Labor Day! Huzzah! We've had the flag since Memorial Day but it didn't make it out on that holiday. I feel so patriotic.

Outside actvities

This is one of our favorite things to do outside lately. Well, Trotood would like to do anything outside as long as it is outside.
Of course, Trotwood would much rather have you swing him in the hammock than just lay there with you. But Mr. Rochester and I both treasure the moments when we can just lay on the hammock. And if Trotwood will lay there with us, all the better!

I absolultely love owning a hammock.
